Developing a culture of learning for educators

Every educational leader wants to establish a culture of learning that empowers all students.However, they fail to realize the importance of having teachers experience learning opportunities that parallel what students should encounter.Learn how to structure professional development that allows staff to experience technology to truly transform teacher practice.

Purpose: To help building and district leaders learn how to utilize technology to develop platforms for professional development that promote collaborative and interactive learning opportunities for teachers which in turn helps facilitate a transformation of teacher practice.

Objectives:Participants will be able to create blended learning experiences as professional development for staff using online resources, book studies, and video artifacts to help teachers expand their own learning experiences beyond the classroom that transforms practice.

Success Criteria:
- Participants will be able to share with others why it is important to create learning experiences for staff using technology to communicate and collaborate.
- Participants will learn about different resources to provide learning opportunities for staff.
- Participants will be able to design their own book study or learning courses for staff.
- Participants will learn how to facilitate learning conversations that foster a change in practice.
- Participants will have an opportunity to leave with a plan to bring back to their organization for implementation.
